Military Medal recommendation 19/8/1918 (altered from Distinguished Conduct Medal) for bravery in the field by leading his section against machine guns which were holding up the advance on the left flank near Littons on 10/8/1918. He succeeded in capturing one gun and causing others to retire. He was then untiring in his attention to the wounded.
